Platja d’Aro Villa
Costa Brava, 2019
This home in Platja d’Aro, renovated by LUV studio, is located on the seafront in the middle of a protected pine forest. The objective was to create a garden that related the building to the natural environment, bridging a coastline between both parts and connecting them at the same time.
We designed flower beds with organic shapes that grew from the interior walls towards the exterior of the plot. A selection of mostly low-growing native vegetation was proposed to create an “infinity” effect towards the sea. To bridge the difference in elevation between interior and exterior, the topography was worked delicately, avoiding sudden earth movements that could affect the pine forest and integrating it into the new garden.
