A private terrace

This private terrace on the ground floor had very little privacy. To privatize it, perimeter garden boxes were built on two levels allowing for much richer planting with vegetation of different textures, colors and smells. In addition, it has been enhanced by volatile bushes that visually blend with the treetops of the adjacent public park.
The terrace is divided into two areas that are differentiated by two types of finish: a seating area made of synthetic flooring and a rest area made of artificial grass. Thanks to the lush vegetation of the planters, the artificial grass acquires a practically natural aesthetic, recreating a small garden.
The intervention follows the landscape trend called New Perennials devised by the Dutch landscaper Piet Oudolf, in which naturalization is sought in a fully urban place using perennial and annual aromatic species that They evoke emotions in any season of the year.
